I joined Saunders & Co as a legal intern in 2022 and began full-time work with the firm in 2023.

I work in the Resource Management team where I support the Partners that lead the team, Chris Fowler and Margo Perpick. I also assist other Partners in the firm with Resource Management related matters and work directly with some clients and consultants. I am passionate about navigating the relationship between people, the environment, and the law.  I enjoy working with clients and collaborating with other experts across a wide range of resource management issues.

Outside of work, I spend my time running and competing in cross country, track and road races. I also love to ski, tramp and mountain bike with my family and friends, when time permits.

Community involvement is important to me and for the past five years I have coached running at a Christchurch girls school.

Examples of recent work I have been involved with:

  • Obtaining rezoning of rural land to enable an Industrial and Business Park.

  • Obtaining rezoning of rural land to enable residential development.

  • Advising on multiple-lot subdivision proposal in Central Otago involving complex landscape, amenity, and heritage issues.

  • Case preparation to support submissions to Councils to enable residential development within Airport Noise Contours.

  • Obtaining resource consent for gravel extraction in Canterbury.

  • Case preparation to support submissions on district plan reviews in Waimakariri and Waitaki.

  • Preparation of an application seeking approval of 900 lot subdivision proposal and 300-unit retirement village proposal under the Fast-track Approvals Act.
